Good Monday Morning,
Per EURCONTROL off load of traffic avoiding the middle East continues to cause enroute delays over portions of SE and Eastern Europe. The Israel FIR remains closed until 17 June at 2100z. LLBG airport remains closed until 2100z on the 17th of June also. Daytime runway closures continue at MMTO, please check notams carefully. CYJT, Stephenville airport should not be used at a diversion airport as it remains closed. CYDF remains a much better choice. Please see Greenland AIC 01/25 in reference to changes at BGSF airport beginning in the autumn. ATC will be discontinued and replaced by AFIS. Runway 09 will be used for landing and 27 for take off.
Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – no critical weather days through Wednesday. No geomagnetic storms are forecast through Wednesday.
Tropical cyclone outlook – all is quiet in the Western Pacific and Indian ocean basins. EP94, near 9N/89W, has a high chance of developing into a TD over the next 24 to 48 hours. Interests in EL Salvador, Guatemala and Southeastern Mexico will have to keep a close eye on this system. I have included a few images from the latest EURO model as an example. Bulk of the heavy rain should remain just to the East of Acapulco, Mexico.
CONUS severe weather outlook – several areas of enhanced thunderstorm risks exist through tomorrow across portions of the Northern to Central plains.
Europe outlook – thanks to a nearly stationary upper-level ridge over much of the continent little in the way of significant weather is forecast through mid-week at least. In fact, by Thursday, a 1030mb high will be located over the UK which is fairly strong for this time of year. Underneath this upper level ridge temperatures well above average will also occur with maximum amounts of daylight.
Canadian smoke model forecast – no impacts to the CONUS through mid-week.
