Expect a presidential TFR to be issued for later on this week for the Houston area. ATC industrial action continues for Norway, with Oslo experiencing some delays. Several notams have been published also for the airspace (ENOS FIR). Delays remain high today over portions of Europe due to staffing issues and CB’S. Powerful area of low pressure will bring high impacts to Western and Central AK on Thursday and Friday with high winds and heavy rain. 2 to 3 inches is possible. Busy weekend expected at EIDW airport with the 2026 Aer Lingus College Football classic.
No critical weather days and no geomagnetic storms are forecast through Wednesday.
CONUS severe weather outlook – Northeast corridor will not be affected by severe weather through mid-week at least. Please see the latest forecast from SPC for further details.
Tropical weather outlook – plenty of suspect areas in the East Pacific and the Atlantic basins however none are forecasted to hit any land masses. In the West Pacific, Typhoon Saudel, 400 miles ESE of Kadena AFB, continues to move briskly to the WNW at 16 knots. It will pass very close to Kadena AFB at 15z tomorrow as a CAT 2 cyclone. In a couple of days, it will weaken slowly as it approaches the China coast, well to the North of Taiwan.
Europe outlook – estofex is forecasting a CAT 3 alert for NE Spain and Southern France for today for very large hail and damaging wind gusts. Severe weather is also possible from Northern France to Central Spain for all types of severe weather. On Tuesday weak low pressure in the Bay of Biscay will help initiate showers and isolated thunderstorms from Central France to the Balkans. Thunderstorm activity will ramp up on Wednesday from Northern Spain to Western France as another area of low pressure and cold front approaches the Bay of Biscay.
North Atlantic jet stream outlook – on Wednesday, an upper-level low South of Ireland and a weak upper-level trough over Labrador will force a fairly strong jet to reside from Newfoundland to just South of Greenland to the Azores to Italy. Later on, this week the flow will become more zonal; therefore, the East bound flights should get a good push.
