Good Monday Morning!

ATC Industrial Action in France – A French national strike has been called for Thursday December 5th, 2024. Striking ATCOs must declare themselves with 2 days’ notice.  The initial assessment doesn’t forecast a major impact on the capacity of DSNA control units, but the situation can change until Tuesday.

Strong upper-level ridging over the Pacific Northwest will likely lead to overnight and early morning fog/freezing fog through at least Wednesday. No critical weather days are in effect through Wednesday and no geomagnetic storms are forecast too.

Tropical outlook

West Pacific / Indian Ocean basin – all is quiet.

US Severe thunderstorm weather outlook – a substantial severe weather threat appears unlikely into this weekend.

Europe outlook – no significant storm systems are present over the continent and none are forecast through Wednesday. Forecasting moderate snowfall amounts in the Alps through the end of the week.

North Atlantic jet stream forecast – on Wednesday, a very powerful jet (velocities > 150 knots) will extend from Bermuda to 50n/30w. By Thursday, the jet will move very little with velocities in excess of 175 knots near 50n/35w. This will work out great for the Eastbound flights and the West bound
