The 62nd Munich Security Conference will take place from 02/13 to 02/15. A PPR procedure for GA traffic will be in place. Daytona 500 race is scheduled for this weekend with high volume expected at DAB. TFR will likely be in effect from Friday through Monday at PBI. Significant runway closure at LKPR, Prague, until 14 August. Runway 06/24 will be closed. Single runway ops can be expected. A TFR has popped up overnight for ELP, El Paso, TX due to security reasons. It is in effect until 02/21 at 0630UTC. It does not include LRU or nearby Mexican airspace. ELP will remain closed for the duration of the TFR.
Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – none through Friday.
CONUS severe weather outlook – no severe storms through Friday. Still uncertain about Saturday afternoon/evening over Eastern TX into Western LA as a cold front moves quickly through the region. Delays are likely during this time period as this line of isolated to scattered thunderstorms moves through the area.
Tropical weather outlook – TC Gezani, 60 miles NE of ANTANANARIVO, MADAGASCAR will likely weaken over the next few hours then slowly intensify in the central Mozambique Channel later on this week. Good news is that the models are in good agreement that the system will not affect Africa, nor any additional land masses during its life cycle.
Europe outlook – a series of cold upper-level troughs and surface cold fronts and moderately strong low-pressure areas will keep the weather very active over much of Western and Central Europe through the weekend. Heavy snow is likely in the Alps along with very gusty winds over Portugal and Spain on Friday behind a fairly deep area of low pressure that will be located to the East of Barcelona, Spain Friday night.
North Atlantic jet stream analysis – a general SW jet stream pattern will continue from NC/SC to just South of Iceland to Morocco with velocities 125 knots at times.
