Good Friday Morning,

LLBG, Tel Aviv remains closed until 03/09 at 10z per notam A0217/26. Budapest, LHBP, UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday May 30th. Expect very heavy traffic and parking issues will be likely. PACD, Cold Bay, AK continues to have issues with JET A until 03/10. A 90 PPR is necessary per notam 02/342. TRANSCON reroutes will be likely later on this afternoon into this evening across the central US associated with a fairly likely severe weather outbreak.

Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – a critical weather day has been implemented until Saturday morning in anticipation of a significant severe weather outbreak. No geomagnetic storms through Sunday.

CONUS severe weather outlook – today will feature an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms from the Southern Plains to portions of Southern Iowa. The activity will likely ramp up around 21z and extend well into the evening hours. All types of severe weather are possible over this region. On Saturday the region pushes East with a severe weather outbreak likely from TX to Western NY state. Severe hail is possible from Central TX to NW LA, with 2-inch hail possible.

Tropical weather outlook – TC 26S, 390 miles NW of Port Hedland, Australia will have no impact on any land masses. Invest area 95W, 350 miles South of Guam has a low chance of developing over the next 24 hours.

Europe outlook – on Sunday a dominant upper-level ridge will persist over much of the continent with a weak upper level over Spain bringing a few showers to this region. On Monday, a fairly weak upper level low along with weak surface low pressure will bring some mountain snow and lower elevation snow to portions of Portugal and Western Spain. Snowfall potential in the Alps remains very low through the middle of next week. With light winds over the continent the potential for late night stratus and fog will be a concern until the overall upper air pattern significantly changes.

North Atlantic Jet stream – for Sunday morning, a broad SW jet will continue from STL to Iceland with peak velocities of 130 knots. East bound flights should have a good tailwind. Expect little change in this pattern on Monday.
