Good Monday Morning,
UEFA EUROPA League final will take place on Wednesday 21 May at Bilbao Spain (LEBB). Several notams have been published. Expect a rare squall line of thunderstorms to develop in a few hours from extreme Northern Spain to Southern France. Delays will be extensive. Toronto, CYYZ, will be significantly upgrading their ATC system in their tower tomorrow at 11am local. The weather looks good tomorrow Tuesday in Toronto, thus this will most likely go ahead on schedule.
Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – a caution remains in effect through Tuesday morning for severe storms across the Southern Plains. No geomagnetic storms are forecast through Wednesday.
Tropical cyclone outlook – all remains quiet.
CONUS severe weather outlook – today looks to be very active with a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms across much of central and Eastern OK into the Western Ozarks including tornadoes and very large hail. On Tuesday this region will shift East towards the Mid MS valley to central TN. By Wednesday expect significantly less convective activity across the CONUS.
Europe outlook – per Estofex, expect significant convective activity with a level 2 alert in effect from SW France to the Spanish/French border for excessive rain and large hail this afternoon into the early evening hours. On Tuesday the surface low will be over NW Italy with the cold front extending from the low to Northern Algeria. The system will continue to weaken on Wednesday and move slowly to the East. However, expect widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms on Wednesday over the Balkans. I am certain over the next few days if you are transiting through this airspace the delays will be rather lengthy.
