Good Monday Morning,
LFBO (Toulouse Blagnac) will be subject to ATC industrial action tomorrow from 04z until 22z. Over the next several days a couple of runway closures will occur at EHAM. With that in mind capacity will be tight. On Mondays through the end of the month runway 12/30 will be closed at OMDW for several hours. Plan accordingly. Expect a ground stop/delay program for EWR until 03z tonight due to low ceilings along with the runway closure. Expect significant airport delays over Eastern TX on Tuesday in association with a good chance for thunderstorms.
Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – no critical weather days are forecast through Wednesday. No geomagnetic storms through Wednesday also.
Tropical cyclone outlook – no suspect areas.
CONUS severe weather outlook – overall, the most active day appears to be today in West TX where an enhanced risk exists for severe weather. A complicated forecast is in the cards for Tuesday however it appears likely that a slight risk for severe thunderstorms will be present over Eastern TX.
Europe outlook – on Tuesday, strong high pressure will be located over the central UK. A closed upper level low and surface low over NW Italy will help promote scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms from Italy to the Balkans. This system will remain nearly stationary through Wednesday therefore little change is expected over much of the continent. If today is any indication expect delays in the EUROCONTROL airspace if transiting through this region.
North Atlantic jet stream forecast – an upper-level ridge over the UK and an upper level low over the Azores on Wednesday will result in a split flow pattern that will last through Thursday.e jet.
