Good Friday Morning,
National strike on Wednesday the 26th of November is planned for Belgium. ATC is not expected to participate. BBR and EBCI will be impacted. No impact to GA traffic fortunately. FACT, Cape Town, South Africa continues to have issue with fuel uploads per notam A4055/25. A security notam has been issued for the San Juan FIR due to a potentially hazardous situation in the San Juan FIR region (TJZS). The notam is KICZ A0010/25 and is in effect until 02/16/26. Surprisingly, I have not seen any airport closure notams for YPDN, Darwin, yet due to cyclone Fina.
Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – none through Sunday.
Tropical cyclone outlook – TC Fina, 140 miles NNE of Darwin, Australia has finally started to move to the SSW at 04 knots. The cyclone will have many landfalls over the next three days and is expected to come very close to Darwin around 24 hours from now with very high winds and heavy rain. Latest taf indicates wind gusts to 80 knots possible. Rainfall amounts will be extreme with 15 to 25 inches likely across portions of NW Australia, mainly close to the coast.
CONUS severe weather outlook – marginal risks exist over portions of the SE US and TX through Sunday. Next week looks to be very quiet in terms of severe weather.
Europe outlook – a very active pattern will likely continue through early next week with a series of upper-level lows and frontal systems providing good opportunities for cold rain showers, gusty winds at times along with snow in the Alps and even some snow showers over much of central France on Saturday.
North Atlantic jet stream analysis – a more or less zonal flow will be present on Sunday with good tail winds for the East bound flights.
