Tropical cyclone outlook – typhoon Nakri, 160 miles SE of RJAA is quickly moving to the East and will not affect any land masses. A broad trough of low pressure a few hundred miles offshore Nicaragua has the potential to become a TD however it will likely remain offshore. Tropical storm Lorenzo, 1100 miles West of the Cabo Verde Islands will not affect any land masses.
CONUS severe weather outlook – no significant severe weather outbreaks expected through Friday.
Europe outlook – per Estofex, the greatest threat of severe weather continues through this evening over extreme Eastern Spain and the Balearic Islands for excessive rain. Very strong upper-level ridge remains anchored over the UK and Ireland, and this will likely persist through Thursday at least. Underneath this ridge both at the surface and aloft, will be light winds which will allow for patchy late night and early morning fog to occur. No snow is expected in the Alps for the next seven days at least.
North Atlantic jet stream analysis – on Wednesday, the combination of an upper-level trough well east of Newfoundland and the upper-level ridge over the UK will help force the primary jet well to the South, from Bermuda to the Azores with velocities around 100 knots.
