Good Monday Morning,

BOS will likely have a ground delay program after 14z today due to runway construction and low ceilings. A series of strikes are scheduled in Iceland over the next few days. BIRD West Sector and BIRD North Sector will have no ATC service from 03 to 07z tonight. Reference notams A0703/25 and A0704/25.

Critical weather days / geomagnetic storm outlook – none through Wednesday.

Tropical cyclone outlook – TC Fengshen, 240 miles SSE of VHHH will remain well to the Southeast of VHHH and make landfall near Dan Nang as a weak TD. Invest area 95S, 700 miles NNW of Cocos Islands has a medium chance of developing over the next 24 hours.  No concerns in the Eastern Pacific and are still watching invest area AL98 in the Eastern Caribbean. Computer models remain in general agreement this system will likely intensify this week and possibly head towards Hispaniola. However, by no means is this cast in concrete.

CONUS severe weather outlook – NOSIG severe weather expected for at least the next three days.

Europe outlook – on Tuesday a series of fronts tied to a primary low-pressure area over Northern Scotland will bring periods of showers to much of Western Europe. On Wednesday deep low pressure will remain nearly stationary to the North of Scotland while another low-pressure area develops to the West of Brest, France and brings a good chance for showers and gusty winds Wednesday night and Thursday to much of Western Europe. Expect periods of snow in the ALPS on Thursday. High winds are expected over much of Western Europe on Thursday behind the surface low which may create delays at airports.

North Atlantic jet stream analysis – very unstable pattern expected by midweek with an upper level low just East of Lake Superior, another upper-level low North of the Azores and finally an upper-level trough will reside to the East of Iceland. As a result, the primary jet will reside from CYFB to the Bay of Biscay with velocities in excess of 100 knots.
