Always checking lists twice, FPI highlights 7 “COR” items to keep in focus while planning your Winter flight operations
FPI’s COR team has been remarkably busy over the last several months keeping abreast of multiple new notices and regulations that will undoubtedly impact ease of movement around the globe, especially when it comes to programs being implemented for the first time.
As we enter the notoriously busy holiday season, you’re invited to lean heavily on COR’s experience and expertise so that all of your operations are seamless, merry, and bright, wherever your travels take you in the world.
COR constantly monitors hundreds of global alerts at once; however, we’ve chosen to highlight seven key trip planning and compliance considerations on the radar this Winter:
- Holiday operations challenges in the Caribbean and Latin America continue to haunt travelers with issues such as overnight parking, restricted and/or at-capacity services, limited hotel rates and availability, and a variety of high-volume airport issues from Florida to Cabo San Lucas and airports in between. Click here for more specific recommendations on airport routing practices.
- Going to Switzerland for the Davos World Economic Forum 2025? Flight Pro International has prepared a downloadable WEF 2025 Guidance Document which provides details concerning Zurich (LSZH), Dubendorf (LSMD), and Friedrichshafen (EDNY), found here.
- (LFPB) Paris-Le Bourget Airport’s new 4-FLIGHT System implementation will have an impact on slot coordination in three distinct phases, concluding February 11th, 2025. During these periods, LFPB flights will need slots booked and a PPR number issued for arrivals and departures, similar to the procedure during the Olympics.
- Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be required of all visa free travelers to the UK in 2025. U.S. nationals, and most other non-Europeans, can apply now, and the ETA will be required for UK travel starting January 8th. Most European nationalities will be able to apply starting March 5th, and their ETAs will be required for travel as of April 2nd, 2025. Click here for a link to check on when you can get an ETA, and for more information about the UK’s transition to digital travel documents.
- eu-LISA’s new timing: The program roll-out may have delayed until April 2025, but FPI’s COR team is continuing to meet regularly with eu-LISA and is working with our vendors and representatives throughout Europe to keep abreast of the latest information.
- FPI will host the next installment of Coffee with Customs, “A Conversation About GA Operations with U.S. CBP General Aviation Program Managers” on January 28th and will be recapping 2024 and addressing top attendee questions. Registration is required; please click here for more information about this online event.
- For ongoing weather updates 3x/week by FPI’s resident aviation-specific meteorology expert, Brad Asselin, follow FPI’s LinkedIn page here. FPI’s 24/7 Meteorology/Flight Planning team is fully in-house with experience exceeding 150 years collectively, specifically within aviation. Although headquartered in Houston, Texas, FPI’s Ops Team has boots on the ground on a 24/7/365 basis on a global scale, with domestic and global team members working in tandem for over 30 years. It’s for this reason that FPI’s COR Focus initiative can regularly relay vast and regional expertise concerning all matters of sensitive flight planning operations.
“FPI’s COR Focus purpose is to continually seek out, monitor, and deliver timely and specific trip planning knowledge by highlighting options and alternative choices so that flight departments, client leadership, crew, and schedulers/dispatchers can navigate the best possible program for their clients,” states Tim Bartholomew, FPI’s Executive Director of Operations.
This season, it’s for this reason we encourage you to treat yourself to extra time on hand by gifting Flight Pro International’s Compliance, Operations, and Regulatory (“COR”) Team to your flight management crew… and enjoy the smoothest Winter travel season yet.
