Good Monday Morning,
Expect an increase in GA traffic into PIT/AGC this week in association with the NFL Draft taking place from Thursday through Saturday. SEA, until 05/11 will have runway 16C/34C closed. Expect reduced capacity. Subject to change but not seeing any signs of any presidential TFR’s this week so far. Special air traffic procedures will be in effect from 04/29 to 05/03 at the Louisville airports for Kentucky Derby Week.
Critical weather days/space Weather alerts – none through midweek.
CONUS severe weather outlook – much quieter period expected through midweek as compared to last week. An uptick is expected later on Thursday afternoon/evening over the upper Midwest.
Tropical weather outlook – all is quiet.
Europe outlook – on Wednesday, an upper-level ridge will dominate from Western Finland to Spain. An upper-level trough will be present from just North of the Black Sea to Northern Greece with showers over this region. On Thursday the upper-level ridge will persist over much of Western and Central Europe with strong surface high pressure located over the Western North Sea. Cold upper-level trough will persist over Western Russia to the central Black Sea with periods of showers and higher elevation snows over Eastern Turkey while very little sensible weather will be seen over much of the continent.
North Atlantic Jet stream – do not expect any significant tail winds going East bound this week. An upper-level low North of the Azores along with an upper-level trough over Eastern Quebec will force the primary jet to reside from South TX to the Canaries with velocities from 75 to 100 knots.
