Summer monsoon is now underway over portions of South Eastern Asia including portions of Southern India. Frequent heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely which naturally can create airport holding issues especially when lightning is nearby. ILS RWY27 at VOBG is not available until at least July 31st. Critical weather days/space Weather alerts – none through Wednesday.
CONUS severe weather outlook – on Tuesday, a slight risk exists from the Dallas area to SE Missouri. Wednesday looks to be fairly active from Central TX to the BHM area with scattered strong to severe thunderstorms likely associated with a midlevel short wave. Enroute reroutes are very possible during the afternoon and evening hours.
Tropical weather outlook – invest area 93W, 65 miles WNW of Chuuk has a low chance of developing over the next 24 hours. Computer models are not very aggressive on development over the next 72 hours.
Europe outlook – on Tuesday, a broad area of low pressure stretching from Poland to central France along with an upper level low north of Bilbao will help initiate a fairly good area of showers and thunderstorms from Northern Spain to Germany. On Wednesday afternoon the upper level trough will be over Eastern France and with fairly good upper level support expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to occur from Eastern France to Northern Italy to much of Germany. Weak high pressure will build into the North Sea.
North Atlantic Jet stream – on Wednesday, an upper level low over Hudson Bay will help drive a fairly strong jet stream from the US central plains to the Azores, while winds remain fairly light north of 40N.
