ZGSZ airport – 15-17 NOV – APEC event will be taking place along with the Economic Leaders’ meeting on 18-19 NOV. Heavy traffic is expected from 14-20 NOV. Overflight permits through China are back to normal. You can now overfly Beijing. Due to fashion week taking place in Milan from the 18th until the 29th of September, expect increased traffic in the Milan area. At LIML, parking availability for GA flights is severely limited. No Critical weather days are expected through Sunday and space weather remains quiet too.
CONUS severe weather outlook – today and Sunday look fairly quiet. On Saturday, a slight risk will exist over the Central Plains including the Kansas City area. Next week looks quiet in terms of severe weather.
Tropical weather outlook – as mentioned on Wednesday, the storm of concern remains Dujuan, located 110 miles Northeast of Iwo TO moving briskly WNW at 14 knots. In four days, it begins extratropical transition due to hostile upper-level conditions. The longer-range forecast has a moderate confidence, with closest approach to Tokyo occurring Monday morning as a strong tropical storm. Our in-house product is indicating heavy rain and high winds moving into the RJTT area Sunday morning through Monday afternoon with likely IFR conditions as it passes to the East of the city.
Europe outlook – on Sunday afternoon (12z) a weakening cold front will reside from Northern Poland to Northern France with a few showers along it with high pressure prevailing from the Bay of Biscay to Switzerland. Only thunderstorms on Sunday will be over Northern Algeria. On Monday, a very well defined upper level ridge along with strong surface high pressure will prevail over much of Western Europe with little sensible weather. Deep low pressure 375 miles West of BIKF on Monday will bring gusty winds to the island with the possibility of snow over the highest elevations. Still not seeing any snow in the Alps for the next 10 days.
North Atlantic jet stream outlook – on Sunday, the flow will begin to buckle therefore the wind factors will not be quite as good as they have been recently. A significant buckle is expected on Monday thanks to the very strong upper level ridge from France to the UK.
