(November 2025)
While operations in Brazil can be efficient when well-prepared, compliance with Brazil’s regulatory, operational, and customs/immigration requirements is essential.
1. Permits & Documentation
- Check all applicable regulations from (ANAC) Brazil Civil Aviation, (ANVISA) Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency, and Federal Police in advance, especially noting differences between charter and private flight procedures.
- Ensure all aircraft and crew documents are current, properly formatted and up to date.
- Brazil may require specific insurance language — check with FPI if there are any concerns.
2. Passenger & Crew Entry
- Check visa and vaccination requirements by nationality.
- Crew must have valid passports and ICAO-compliant IDs.
- Passenger manifests and customs paperwork must be precise.
3. Ground Handling
- Major hubs (SBGR & SBGL) have full business aviation services and FBOs.
- Regional airports may lack equipment or ramp access. Customs and Immigration processing at regional airports takes place in the main terminal. Fast track processing services are not available at these airports resulting in business aviation passengers standing in line with other commercial airline passengers.
- Confirm parking and check NOTAMs in advance, especially during busy periods.
4. Fueling & Payments
- Some airports don’t accept foreign fuel cards; prearranged payment can be coordinated through FPI or your preferred fuel supplier.
- Verify fuel price, availability, and local tax/document requirements before arrival.
5. Communication & Local Support
- English fluency may vary; having a local agent improves coordination and ensures a more seamless experience.
- Local support can handle logistics, hotels, catering, and ground transport.
In Summary:
Flights to Brazil run smoothly with thorough preparation, compliant documentation, and strong local coordination. Large airports offer premium service, while smaller ones need extra planning to ensure timely operations.
