(July 2025)
The new Entry/Exit System (EES) for the European Union (EU) is on track to begin a phased implementation in October 2025. The proposed start date is October 12, and the date should become official later this month.
All the member states have declared readiness for EES implementation, and the phased implementation plan has been agreed by all the relevant parties. This means that EES will likely, FINALLY, begin implementation on October 12, 2025.
Flight Pro International (FPI) remains ready to assist clients with all aspects of the EES and the later addition to the system, the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
FPI is already fully certified to connect with EES as soon as it goes live. [link Flight Pro International Achieves eu-LISA Certification] However, every operator needs to be registered individually in order for FPI to query the systems on their behalf. FPI can help with registration, too. [link eu-LISA Registration]
Operators should also be aware of the EES implementation because of the potential for entry processing delays. [link EES Could Bring Delays to EU Travel] The introduction of EES includes the capture of biometric information as outlined in the document linked below:
