Important notam A0974/26 for NFFN just got issued yesterday regarding the unavailability of JET A-1 fuel until the end of the month due to high demand and tanker delays. Moderate delays expected at BZN this weekend due to volume. Some delays also possible this weekend in the vicinity of Chicago, IL due to the Chicago air and water show. Code RED alert continues to Mt Etna with the latest sigmets showing the ash to FL 240 drifting south. LICB remains zero rated until 1400UTC. General flow aloft over the weekend would suggest the ASH will continue to move to the Southeast.
A critical weather day remains in effect until 00z Sunday the 16th of August in support of tropical cyclone operations in Hawaii. No geomagnetic storms are forecast through Sunday.

Tropical weather outlook – tropical storm Lana, 435 miles East of Hilo, HI continues to move to the WNW at 10 mph with maximum winds of 60 mph. A hurricane warning remains in effect for Hawaii county with a tropical storm watch in effect for Maui County. Max rainfall amounts of 25 inches are possible across the higher terrain of the big island while 8 to 12 inches are likely at the lower elevations of the big island. No watches are in effect for Honolulu. West Pacific remains quiet. Atlantic basin has two areas of interest but none of these areas are posing an imminent threat to any land masses.
Europe outlook – by mid-day Saturday a cold front will be located over the Benelux region, and this will usher in a cooler air mass to much of Western Europe. Unfortunately, only a few showers will accompany frontal passage with the best concentration of thunderstorms over Spain with daytime heating. The weather will remain fairly quiet over the continent on Sunday with only isolated to widely scattered daytime thunderstorms expected from Spain to Western France.
