(August 2026)
Attention travelers to Egypt: Please note that Egypt has launched a new Digital Visa-on-Arrival (eVisa) pilot program.
Effective August 1, 2026, eligible crew members and passengers requiring a visa to enter Egypt should obtain their eVisa QR Code in advance through the official mobile application or website. The new system replaces the traditional paper visa sticker with a fully digital process designed to streamline and expedite arrival formalities.
At this time, the requirement applies only to international arrivals at Cairo International Airport (HECA) as part of the initial pilot phase. Operators should note that, following the successful completion of the pilot program at HECA, the eVisa system is expected to be implemented progressively at airports throughout Egypt.
The eVisa is valid for one entry and permits a stay of up to 30 days. The eVisa may be obtained up to 48 hours before arrival. Travelers who do not apply in advance may still obtain the eVisa at a self-service kiosk within the terminal upon arrival. However, this option may result in longer processing times.
The eVisa can be obtained using either of the following official methods:
- Visa on Arrival Egypt mobile application
- Egypt Visa on Arrival Portal website
The cost is USD 36.00 per eVisa.
For additional details, please see this instructional video provided by Egyptian authorities:
Once the eVisa has been issued, please forward the QR Code to Flight Pro International so that we can provide it to the ground handler in advance. Doing so will help facilitate a faster and more efficient arrival clearance process.
