The BOS EMAS construction project will begin today along with the closure of runway 09/27 resulting in reduced AARS and unavailable RWY configurations. The F1 race is scheduled to take place in Madrid from 09/10 to 09/13. Expect very high demand for GA/BA aircraft per LEMD notam A5852/26. Expect possible delays in and around the Houston area on Tuesday depending on the future track of invest area 97L south of Louisiana. A surprise strike yesterday appears to be causing significant delays at airports in Kenya along with significant delays in the FIR per notam A0193/26.
A critical weather day is possible on Tuesday to support excessive rainfall and tropical cyclone operations along the upper TX coast and portions of Southwest LA. are in effect through Sunday. No geomagnetic storms are forecast through Wednesday.
CONUS severe weather outlook – Tuesday and Wednesday both look active in the NE and Mid-Atlantic regions which unfortunately will likely lead to ATC delays. In fact, the threat of severe weather may even extend into Thursday for this region.
Tropical weather outlook – once again there are plenty of suspect areas across all the basins but the most significant area of concern is invest area 97L which has a high chance of developing into a TD or a weak TS before making landfall over the next 30 hours in the lower Sabine River area (border between TX/LA). An air force recon flight is scheduled to provide much better insight into the system by noon today.
Europe outlook – on Tuesday, a general Westerly flow will prevail over the continent with surface high pressure in the Bay of Biscay to the alps with little in the way of sensible weather occurring with very low probabilities of lightning. On Wednesday a series of fronts will move into the UK and Ireland with periods of light showers, but no lightning is expected while an upper-level ridge builds into Spain and France providing good weather to this region.
North Atlantic jet stream outlook – on Wednesday, a broad upper-level trough from Iceland to Bermuda will help promote a general Southwesterly jet with max velocities of 120 knots. Expect little change on Thursday which will help provide very good wind factors for the East bound flights.
