Industrial action remain in place for airports in Portugal through 21z tonight. ATC capacity is limited and delays can be expected. Runway 08/26 remains closed at ESSA (Arlanda) until late September. Heavy traffic today in the EUROCONTROL airspace with around 34,000 flights expected. Snow is possible in the Alps beginning Thursday evening into early Friday morning. No presidential TFR’s have been issued yet for next week.

CONUS severe weather outlook – slight risks will exist through Friday across the Northern Plains and the upper Midwest primarily.
Tropical weather outlook – final warning has been issued for TS Jangmi located just to the East of Tokyo will continue to accelerate to the ENE and gradually weaken. The weather continues to improve in the Tokyo area. Tropical depression one-e located near 10N/127W, in the Central Pacific will not affect any land masses.
Europe outlook – on Thursday at 12z a deep surface and upper-level low will be located just to the North of Scotland with a cold front extending from the low through Eastern Germany to Southern France. Look for very good coverage of showers and thunderstorms from Southern Sweden to Southern France along with gusty winds over the UK and Ireland. Expect enroute delays. On Friday, deep surface low pressure, 400 miles WSW of Shannon will bring increasing wind and rain to Ireland, mainly after 15z. Weak cold front across Eastern Europe with isolated thunderstorms from Western Poland to the Northern Adriatic Sea.
North Atlantic Jet stream – an upper-level low midway between Greenland and Iceland will help promote a zonal flow from Newfoundland to Brest with velocities from 75 to 100 knots. Expect little change for Saturday. East bound flights should have a great tail wind.
