LIBG (Taranto Grottaglie airport) will be closed from 05/21 to 05/24 for runway works (17/35). Champions League final in Budapest at 1800 local on Saturday the 30th. Current estimates are 750-800 movements associated with the final with very high traffic from the UK and France for the event. With the UK bank holiday on Monday, EGLF is estimating 130 movements on Thursday, 150 on Friday and 120 on Monday which exceed last years projections.

CONUS severe weather outlook – compared to recent days only slight risks exist today and Friday per the latest SPC forecasts. The extended period looks relatively quiet.

Tropical weather outlook – all is quiet.

Europe outlook – through Sunday, the most active area for showers and thunderstorms will be over extreme SE Europe including Turkey and Greece in association with a weak upper level low. A strong and persistent upper-level ridge will dominate otherwise with relatively stable weather in place along with plenty of sunshine and above normal temperatures.

North Atlantic Jet stream – on Friday, a zonal flow will be present with the core of the jet stream from Maine to Ireland with velocities in excess of 125 knots just offshore the US East Coast.
