Beijing Daxing International Airport (ZBAD) is Now Available for GA Arrivals and Departures

Travelers flying into Beijing now officially have a new airport to consider when conducting trip management to the region.

Beijing Daxing International Airport (ZBAD) technically opened during the Summer of 2019; however, GA aircraft arrivals and departures were not accepted until October 17th, 2024.

We want to be sure that all FPI clients are aware that ZBAD may be a good option when operating to Beijing.

Below are a few key takeaways when comparing ZBAD to ZBAA (the older Beijing Capital International Airport):

  • ZBAD currently has less overall traffic than ZBAA
  • ZBAD currently has shorter taxi times
  • ZBAD is in good condition as the airport is new
  • ZBAD has a slightly longer drive time (distance) to downtown Beijing:
    • ZBAD is approx. 45 minutes
    • ZBAA is approx. 35 minutes
  • ZBAD should provide faster processing, as the facility has a nice Business Aviation Terminal (BAT) with 04 lanes for domestic and 04 lanes for international… (as opposed to the 01 lane at ZBAA)
  • ZBAD has 02 large hangars
  • Gulfstream maintenance techs from ExecuJet are based at ZBAD. They are able to provide tech support for all Gulfstream aircraft, with the exception of the G600, G700 and G280.
  • At ZBAD, aircraft will need to be towed to/from the parking stand to the ground fuel pump; however, this is not a huge deal as there are no restrictions on running the APU.

Please reach out to FPI’s Ops Team ([email protected]) to let us know how we can assist with your trip planning into the region, or if you have any questions regarding this particular airport.age you to treat yourself to extra time on hand by gifting Flight Pro International’s Compliance, Operations, and Regulatory (“COR”) Team to your flight management crew… and enjoy the smoothest Winter travel season yet.
