(January 2026)
The new Entry/Exit System (EES) for the European Union (EU) began its phased implementation on October 12th, 2025. As the implementation continues to progress through its phases, the potential for processing delays on the ground increases, as the introduction of EES includes the capture of biometric information.
Up to this point, General Aviation (GA) flights have been largely left out of the process. That is likely to remain the case for another month or two as authorities focus on airline traffic.
However, by April 9th, 2026, all arriving travelers, including GA crew and passengers, will have their entry and exit processed via the EES system. Processes and equipment for GA are likely to vary from country to country and airport to airport. Flight Pro International (FPI) will share more information as it becomes available.
FPI remains ready to assist clients with all aspects of the EES and the future addition to the system, the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
FPI is already fully certified to connect with EES. [see link Flight Pro International Achieves eu-LISA Certification]
However, every operator needs to be registered individually in order for FPI to query the systems on their behalf. FPI can help with registration, too. [see link eu-LISA Registration, includes link to FPI webinar, “eu-LISA: Fact vs. Fiction”]
If you plan to travel to Europe in 2026, let FPI help with EES and your other compliance needs.
