G7 Summit to be Hosted in Evian, France

(June 2026)

France will host the G7 Summit in the French city of Evian, located near Lake Geneva, in the French Alps.

The summit will take place from June 15th to June 17th, 2026. However, access restrictions will go into effect a few days before the start of the summit. All areas will be under close security as the G7 Countries’ Heads of State will be present. In addition to the G7 Countries, the following nations have been invited as well: Brazil, South Korea, India, and Kenya.

At this time, the French Civil Aviation Authority has published only one Aeronautical Information Publication advising of exclusion areas, otherwise known as “no-fly zones,” over the areas surrounding the city of Evian starting June 10th.

Evian does not have a suitable airport to host the incoming flights. There is no official information at this time regarding what will become the main airport of entry for the delegations. Here are the best options for flight consideration:

  • LSGG (Geneva Airport) is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Not only is this the closest airport to Evian, but it is the best option to provide service for large VVIP aircraft. The Swiss Air Force and Army will be involved in protecting the area.
  • LFLL (Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport) is located in Lyon, France, and will likely to be involved in the event, despite being an approximate 2-hour and 30-minute drive from Evian. LFLL is already slot coordinated with prior permission requests.
  • LFLY (Lyon-Bron Airport) is located in Bron, France, and has no restrictions linked to the summit. This airport is a similar distance from Evian to LFLL.

As expected, booking hotels throughout the region will be extremely difficult during the summit. Access and parking during the summit are subject to approval by the local Special Task Force.
