Please be advised that new requirements are in effect for dogs and cats traveling to Mexico. These updates went into effect back in August 2026.

In addition to the previously established documentation, including the required health certificate, the owner must present a GBG Inspection Certificate upon arrival. Please refer to the documents available in the country file for additional details.

It is important to note that the required inspection certificate may only be issued by an Authorized Responsible Veterinarian (MVRA). The certificate confirms that the pet has been inspected and is free of New World screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax).

Please also note that this requirement has already been incorporated into the Zoosanitary Requirements Sheet. The updated documentation is available in the country file.

IMPORTANT: If the required documentation is not presented upon arrival, Mexican authorities may require the aircraft to return to the United States.
